Description:

Kalanchoe luciae (Paddle Plant) is an impressive evergreen succulent with a basal rosette of thick, fleshy, rounded leaves, 8 in. long (20 cm) and 6-8 in. wide (15-20 cm). Resembling clam shells, the jade green leaves are adorned with vibrant red-wine tips during the cooler winter months if grown in bright light. How to Grow and Care

Kalanchoe luciae is easy to grow, but for it to be beautiful, it needs exposure to direct sun, otherwise its leaves remain green, and the internodes of the stem grow a little too long.

This kalanchoe appreciates all kinds of soil as long as it is draining: garden soil that is not too compact or a special cactus mixture of the type 1/3 potting soil, 1/3 garden soil, 1/3 coarse sand. It is watered deeply once every 7 to 15 days from April to September. The soil should dry out between two waterings. It needs very little fertilizer, because too fattened, it deforms and becomes more fragile. Better a spring repotting to renew your land.

Winter for Kalanchoe Luciae is the dry and cold season. Watering is completely suspended, and it is wintered in the dry in a cool room between -5 and 12 ° C (garage, cellar or veranda). If the room is brighter, where it is kept outside in the south, it will develop its amazing flower stalk...- Learn more at  How to Grow and Care for a Paddle Plant
