19 Houseplants Maintenance

 No plant can live without minimal care, water and light fundamentally, but it is true that some plants need much less care than others. With these minimum needs covered, these 19 maintenance-free indoor plants will hardly need us at all. We can grow them in our house without having to stand on them or worry about them in weeks.




1.- The bamboo of luck, which is actually a Dracaena, only needs water and light, the latter is satisfied with a little although it is indirect.

2.- The jade tree, Crassula ovata, can reach the size of a small shrub and is very easy to grow indoors. Tolerates poor soil very well and conforms to partial or indirect light.

3.- The leg of an elephant, nolina or bocarnea looks like a palm tree, in fact many people believe that it is, but in reality it is a succulent of the liliaceae family. It grows slowly and tolerates dry environments very well.

4.- Variegated pots need bright environments but without direct light that would cause them to lose that characteristic color. Tolerates drought as well as humidity as well, although you don't have to overdo it with watering.

5.- Sanseviera or mother-in-law language is an easy plant to grow. Very resistant to drought allows us a long margin when it comes to remembering to water it.

6.- Zamioculca is a tropical plant native to East Asia. It needs low light and can grow anywhere. Its leaves, thick and bright, are very decorative.

7.- The tape or ribbons, Chlorophytum comosum, is a tremendously easy plant to grow. It can adapt to any situation and is very easy to reproduce.

8.- The chef, Schefflera actinophylla, is very common in offices and homes. It is a very decorative and large plant. You need light and monitor the irrigation.

9.- Aloe vera needs practically nothing, light, although it can also grow in the shade and a little water from time to time.

10.- The espatifilo stands out for its large leaves and its characteristic white flowers that rise above. You don't need a lot of light and humid environments, a good plant to decorate the bathroom.

11.- The diefembaquia goes very well for houses with low light. Keep the soil and the environment moist and a moderate average temperature.

12.- The ficus lira is a resistant tree that in the indoor crop is very decorative because of its height. It needs bright environments but no direct sun.

13.- The rubber tree, Hevea brasiliensis, is a fantastic indoor plant that is very easy to grow. It only requires pruning from time to time and transplanting it from a pot every several years.

14.- The aspidistra needs very little light to grow, in addition it can live in dry environments and of very varied temperatures.

15.- The philodendron does not need much light to live. Water in moderation, even letting the soil dry a little between waterings. Instead, wet environments do well.

16.- The aglaonema tolerates the lack of light very well, it should never receive direct sun. It must be raised in humid environments and needs deep watering in summer.

17.- Although ivy is a typical outdoor crop, it is also possible to raise it indoors. As an indoor plant it is easy to maintain, it needs indirect light.

18.- The porcelain flower, Hoya carnosa, stands out for its fleshy and cerulean leaves as well as for its fragrant flowers. It needs little irrigation and a somewhat high humidity environment.


19.- Tradescantia is a flowering indoor plant that has creeping growth which makes it ideal for hanging baskets and pots. It can grow in low light but you will lose the beautiful color of its variegated leaves.
