Echeveria Black Prince ( Echeveria affinis)

Echeveria ‘Black Prince is a dark succulent that will definitely add some mood to your garden. It may be small, but the imitation black leaves stand out in a sea of green.

Black Prince’s rosettes have spirals of wide and pointed leaves. The leaves turn very dark purple as they mature – so dark that they appear black! The coloring depends on how much sunlight this succulent receives.

The Echeveria genus comes from Mexico and has many hybrids. ‘Black Prince’ is a hybrid of Echeverias affinis and shaviana. It’s reasonably easy to grow indoors and out.

How to Propagate Black Prince Echeveria

Propagating the Echeveria Black Prince from clippings isn’t difficult. Cut a stem clipping from close to the root of the plant.

Allow the leaf cutting to dry for several days and then place it in its own pot. When the leaf sprouts roots, place your new echeveria in its permanent home.

It doesn’t need much care, but make sure the plants get at least four hours of full sun.

You should also skip watering the cutting for a bit. The Black Prince succulent plant doesn’t need a lot of water, especially when propagating or transplanting.

Lightly mist the soil using a spray bottle. This little bit of moisture should be more than enough to keep the plant healthy.
