When the succulents are no longer in the pot, we can divide them up and multiply them with simple operations
The multiplication of succulents (such as cacti and succulents) is very easy.
The division of the head is perhaps the safest technique to carry out the multiplication of succulents because we are faced with a plant already provided with roots that only requires to be placed in the pot.
The division of head is nothing but the separation of many autonomous seedlings, provided with roots, from a mother plant. The seedlings thus obtained must be immediately placed in single pots with a substratum consisting of a mixture of sand and soil and treated, immediately, as adult plants.
Prepare the soil to reproduce succulents
They serve: specific soil for cacti (70%); sand with coarse grain size mixed with inert materials (pumice, etc.).
The components must be mixed carefully in order to form a uniform and homogeneous compound.
Then some jars are filled in each of which a part of the mother plant will be inserted.
Taking care not to damage the roots, extract the root system from the pot and separate each seedling from the common plate, conserving as much mixture as possible with the roots.
The separation action must be slow and measured to minimize the amount of broken roots.
Fill some pots with the soil-sand-aggregate mixture prepared previously. We put each plant in a pot and cover the surface with sand. From now on the new seedling needs the same cultural care as the mother plant.
