Deuterocohnia brevifolia is an evergreen perennial ground cover, with very small narrowly standing rosettes (up to 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter) of leaves, forming a mound up to 3 feet (90 cm) in diameter.
The leaves are densely arranged, triangular, toothed at the base and with sharp tips, up to 0.8 inch (2 cm) long. Flowers are small and insignificant, solitary, cylindrical and intensely green.

How to Grow and Care
Grow your Deuterocohnia in well-drained humus rich soil with added pebbles, perlite, hardwood bark or other material to facilitate drainage.
Keep in bright light or part sun and water moderately in spring and summer letting it dry between waterings in the winter. It is probably one of the cold hardiest of the Bromeliads, but detesting winter wet on its foliage, proves difficult to keep outside.
